great countertop popper at a good price, 08/14/2009

works great. good price for a commercial grade popper. you need room for it--it does take up space. on a counter-top, you need high clearance under any upper cupboards. it saves money not to buy the optional rolling stand, but if space or mobility is an issue, then the stand may be a good investment. i also bought the recommended gold medal 4-oz popcorn packets, and i am glad i did because they are pre-measured and make perfect popcorn without any waste or mistakes. the popper comes with a scoop, so you really do not need to buy an extra scoop. i did not realize that it came with a scoop, so i bought one separately. i could have saved money if i had known the scoop was included. clean-up takes several minutes each time (because you can not immerse anything in water), but all parts wash clean well with just a wet sponge, followed by a few soft cloths or clean paper towels or napkins.
