Easy in, easy out...this safe is a serious machine. It is build very solidly and feels secure. A simple code of your choosing gets you in, then simply punch in code again (or even change the code) to lock it. The packaging was adequate and it got to me perfectly intact. The price couldn't be beat either...it's a great value!

This is the perfect size for a dorm room. It will hold a laptop and other small electronics. Easy to open and close with any magnetic strip card.

Had read about poor packaging, this is very true, this could be a problem. It was not for me. Larger than expected, ease of use, looks like a cruise ship safe, door alignment off a bit but worked well, good price. I would buy again.

Excellent Purchase, 04/09/2008

The first safe was damaged in shipment. The safe door was sprung causing it to be impossible to close. Evidently the container had been dropped in shipment although there was not apparent visible damage to the container. The Mesa Safe Company (Devin W.) was very helpful and after a try at trouble shooting, which was not successful, the decision was made to send another safe. The second safe arrived in 3 days in good shape. DHL picked up the damaged safe which is enroute back to the company at this writing.

This Product arrived damaged the plastic part
keypad on the front was cracked, although it was packaged with styrofoam it was small pieces not
like it was made specifically for this product. Although the combination pad still worked, after a couple of openings door scratched paint due to alignment.. also you have to reprogram code every time you open it, (this would be normal for a hotel room safe would have been nice to have way to set permanently) although you can probably use the magnetic strip for a pass key never tried it..
All in All if you get one undamaged, and don't mind reprogramming combination every use would be good economic alternative.
