Not for Texas,
Date:03/30/2009

Ours is in a dumpster at Garner State Park; on it's second outing. The color codes are nice but it is rather complicated for all that. The instructions are not sewed in and you can expect to lose them at the worst time-that is the nature of camping. Ours flew away. We attempted to erect this tent during nasty wind and the metal poles bent terminally as we attempted to get the tent up. Other people, using dome-type tents were not experiencing the problems we had with this design. The poles failed at the point where one inserted into the other. I could have kept it and bought replacement poles but I never would have felt secure after this. This is Texas were weather extremes are not uncommon. I am back into the market for a dome-type or something that does not catch wind the way this design does. I am an experienced camper and strongly favor simplicity and durability. This tent does not rate highly for either.

Mixed Reviews!,

We went camping a few weeks ago with this tent. It was so easy to set up! It is really roomy, and we LOVED the front porch. It was great for keeping dirt out of the tent. We were loving our tent until the wind came. The gusts got under the porch, collapsed it, and bent the pole in half. The tent remained standing, but we had to take off the rain fly. If you are not going to camp in a windy area, this tent is the best deal around, but if you camp in a windy place - keep looking.

Vacation Home,

Me and my wife found this tent on sale and read the reviews and decided to try it out. Putting it together was pretty easy but the rainfly can be a little tricky. After i was done i fell in love. It had plenty of room and you can divide the rooms into two very nice. I also never seen a tent with gutters on it that was neat! There is plenty of airflow with the rainfly on. there is plenty of room so you ain't got to worry about stepping all over each other. The nexed day i took it down and tried to put it back in its carrying case it came with. That did'nt work to well they could have made the case a little bigger the tent was compressed when i took it out but putting it back in was'nt going to happen. Thats all i can tell you did not camp in wind or rain conditions it was mostly clear. I think i got a pretty good deal and the tent itself is pretty nice!

Greatest Tent to Own,
Date:09/15/2008
By:Jack33
My wife and I went camping for the first time using this tent, We got to the camp site late and had to set up in the dark using car headlights and flashlights. This tent was so very easy to set up thanks to the color coded pole system it has( even in the dark it was easy). We had a great time and the tent gave us wonderful room and great air flow because of the large windows the whole weekend.

We purchased this tent for our Yosemite & Sequoia National Park camping trip. We were camping five days at four different campgrounds. We did one practice set up at home to get acquainted with how the tent is set up. It is a very straight forward set up with color coded poles. After just that one practice my nine year old son and I could set up the tent in about fifteen minutes. We did not encounter any rain but we had some high winds at Convict Lake,CA. The tent stood strong with all the tie downs set. Lots of room inside. we had to queen size air mattresses and still had plenty of room to move around inside. The porch on the tent was great for shade in the heat of the day and to keep dirty feet away from the doors of the tent. Had lots of comments from fellow campers on what a great looking tent we had and wanted to know where to get one. Easy to set up, great airflow in tent, always fit back in the travel bag (has expansion zipper if you don't get it rolled quite as tight as you would like), lots of room, just an overall great tent. Good job Sam's & Northpole Tents!

Great Tent,
Date:08/02/2008

We have used it on two separate camping trips and we have really enjoyed the canopy, and all the room we had. We had a queen mattress, small table w/folding chairs and all of our personal belongings and still room to move around. We had flash floods and it rained for hours one of the nights we camped. It did have several small leaks, but actually did quite well considering the amount of rain that fell. After initial set up it is quite easy to set up (about 20 minutes for 2 people). Overall we are very pleased with this tent.

Great tent for a city girl :),
Date:07/12/2008

Great purchase....I'm a city girl but my husband wanted to camp. This is like having your own hotel room under the stars. We were able to accommodate 2 queen size air mattress, have space for a fan, space to hang lamps, and still have enough room for backpacks and stuff. Great ventilation system and REALLY WATERPROFF. We had a very bad storm and the leakage was minimum. I was able to clean it only a small towel........If you are thinking about it BUY IT!!!!

OK tent for most situations,

We bought this for our annual 4th of July camping adventure.
Set up was easy, we didn't find the instructions until after we had finished setting it up. Everything was color coded and the main connectors were already attached to the tent.
The only problem was that it rained on our first night and the tent leaked terribly in a couple of places. All the leaks were along seams that had zippers in them. Plastic cups placed in appropriate areas kept the water from spreading too far.

Great Tent!,

Bought this tent and used it over a long holiday weekend. Survived a severe storm with only minimal leakage. Gutters helped, but didn't work as well as I think they intended. You really need to use the tie downs to keep the rain fly taut during high winds and heavy rain. Overall, it's an extremely roomy tent for 2 with a queen air mattress. Could easily have room for 2 air mattresses and gear. Instructions were pretty basic, but only took about 15 minutes for 2 of us to set up. The porch was a nice touch!

AWESOME CABIN TENT !,
Date:06/09/2008
By:lovetocamp
After calling our local Sam's for more info on this tent and was told it was a 'true" 18 x 12 , I went straight to Sam's to buy it. However, Once I viewed it ,it turned out to be only a
12 x 12 with a 6 foot covered awning.Hence the 18 x 12... Not wanting to give up a planned camping trip I went ahead and got it. Took it home set it up that day. Here's what we found to be true about the tent.
You can put this tent up alone. However, It's going to be hard . 2 people would be a lot better and faster in the set up time. after we figured out where all the pole went, ( they color coded 2 poles wrong and we had to figure out where they really went ) it took us a little over an hour, next time shouldn't be more than 20 mins tops. The tent is really big inside even tho it's a 12 x 12. We wanted to see just how much room this tent gave so we set up 8 cots. 4 on each side altho it had very little room left after doing so. it is possible to put 8 cots inside But,only if you are planning to sleep in it and not change clothes or store your gear. I personally wouldn't use more than 6 cots if you are wanting space to walk around and/or being able to change clothing with out triping over cots. The windows are really nice. The zipper zips from the bottom to the top with added flap. meaning it goes about 1/2 inch beyond the top of the window. You can have the full window open or you can use half. this is really nice being able to control the air flow.
The rain fly was really easy to put on as well as the awning itself. the ground flooring outside the tent was a nice added bonus.. The rain system has to be the coolest thing Ive ever seen on a tent. Since we didnt have any rain for the week we left the tent up as a test run before taking it camping, we did a water hose test. My husband really gave the tent a workout.(About 30 mins of spraying the tent from top to bottom / side to side) . he hit the tent with direct spaying from all four sides and the top. there was a little leaking around the zippers, but nothing that would ruin a camping trip or make one break out the mop. I would say the water that leaked in was less than 2 tablespoons( remember, this was direct spraying).I don't see any water leaking in durning a normal raining tho. . The tent beaded up as it should with the spraying and other than the water that leaked in from the zippers all was water proof. The floor could have been a little thicker, but its nice all the same. You just can't go wrong with a tub flooring with any tent.We liked this tent so much that today I went back and got a 2nd tent for the kids to sleep in.. Over all, this tent is really nice, water proof and you just can't beat what you will get with added bonuses with any other tent in this price range or size.
A very nice cabin tent !!
