My wife & I are very well pleased with this SB-99 Cross Cutter. It operates as well as the details said it would. It out performs our last two shedders that we had 10-1.It is sleek looking and looks good in any room. We both are seniors and have a lot of old papers to get rid of, We made the right choice,

Really like this shredder!!!,

This was a really good value. It was purchased for our office. I saw this in our vendor catalog, and the Sam's Club price was $100 cheaper! We had a backup of materials to shred, and we gave this a good workout immediately. It did great!!! I like the light indicator that shows if you have too much paper in the slot, as well as that it stops working and an indicator light comes on if the basket is overfull. (These two problems were why our previous shredder broke.) It is also much quieter than the last one we had; so much so that we can use it during office hours, as opposed to having to wait until after hours so as not to disturb anyone. It handles the volume of materials we generate daily. (We're a small office of 9.) Also, it is a cross-cut, so it is sufficent security. This is a nice quality shredder, and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

SB-99Ci Shredder,

The unit was received within 2-days. I took it out of the box and set it up without the wheels which I've kept just in case I decide to install them. The handy bin to hold papers to be shredded, I'm using to hold plastic bags to line the shredder bin drawer and the lubricant for the shredder.
I've found the unit to be quiet and very efficient. I especially like the safety features of the unit.
The only drawback I've found so far is if you stick a small item into the shredder, the unit might turn on but possibly won't "grab" what you're shredding. Other than that, it's great.
You do need to open the drawer periodically to spread the shred around so that it doesn't stack up in one place but I've had to do that with all my other shredders.

Owner says it is to sensative. The ladies in the office that use it all the time....says it nice and quiet...it does the job...the only problem is that it gets stuck when feeding more than 6 pages at a time. Other than that we like it.

Happy with purchase. Quiet, new sleek design fits right under desk although I use it sideways so unfortunately I can't see when the paper gets full. Couldn't use the wheels because then it would be too high -- my mistake. One complaint would be the way it fills up. Because the feed is basically on one side, one side of the drum fills up faster than the other and you have to tamp it down occasionally when it is not full.

Auto sensor too sensative. Just about anything reads as the max number of sheets. Therefore, you always have to use the manuel button, defeats the purpose of the auto sensor.
Paper bin has internal items that tear bags when you remove them so you make a mess. Should be clean in and out.

Great Shredder!,

I had a small storage box of financial paperwork from years of accumulation. I had some options that were either too expensive or not environmentally sound.
I had some Wal Mart gift cards and a gift card to Sam's Club. I looked at both my local Wal Mart and Sam's Club and could not find the size shredder I needed to eliminate & solve my problem.
I went on-line to Sam's Club and found this one. I was convinced after reading the reviews that this was the size shredder I needed to do the job. With my gift cards I was able to get it for almost half-price.
It's a great shredder and I'm truly amazed at how quiet it is!

Powerful, reliable shredder,

This crosscut shredder powers through shredding jobs without a fuss. It is quiet as shredders go. it has an extra large capacity bin for collecting the shredded debris.
It has two safety features to protect small hands. The first is an automatic stop mode whenever anything conductive touches the metal rim around the paper feed slot. Since people are conductive, any hand touch stops the shredder instantly. The second feature is a power switch on the back of the shredder as well as an on-off push button on top of the shredder. If you work in an office, you can leave the switch on the back in the on position, but at home I turn it off when I am finished shredding. To reactivate the shredder, you must flip the switch in the back and press the power button on the top of the shredder. The switch on the back is not visible to prying toddlers eyes and the requirement for both actions make the potential for accidental powering on most unlikely.
