This product was everything decribed on the site and then some. It is very easy to use. We tested the generator and were extremely pleased wtih its ease of use. It runs everything in the house with no problem. It is a heavy duty unit but is surprisingly easy to move around. The unit weighs 200lbs. The frame is well built. I have no complaints at all. I will say you would be doing yourself a favor by purchasing a funnel to put the oil in but that is no big deal.

Hooked up the wheels and 10 mins out of the box rolling it into the garage the axels welds bent @ the frame unable to hold & support the weight. not good at all.
We'll have to see how the rest of the product performs over time before I reccommendthis unit to anyone.

got unit was a day off from shipping but that worked out unit comes with hard rubber tires never a flat but heavy, unit seems to run fine a little shocked it did not come with a honda motor or a brand name but do the oil change and in 25hr change to a syn oil should last years and always vent or run out side not in celler or garage unless you vent it out ,oo ya you will need a hose or funel for oil

Delivered on pallet by truck. Need a good jack to help install wheels -- weighs 200 lbs. Suprisingly well built -- lots of extras i.e. engine mount shock absorbers, sealed 12 v battery. Need long neck oil funnel to install oil. Bought it for home use. Sturdy enough for general field use. I had electrican install 220v service jack to my breaker box. Should be able to supply current to whole house except for range. Started right up.

Although I haven't had to use it yet I think it should do the job. There are a couple hings I think could be improved on it. There should be a tube extending out to pour the oil in. That is minor because you don't change oil that much. The other thing is the choke. It is hard to locate and after you pull it out it tends to bend when you push it in.

This is a very good product for the price and relatively easy to put together. I have fair mechanical knowledge and a motorcycle lift in my garage so this made things relative easy to put together. There were 2 observations I made. The first is that the choke lever is place very close to the top of the engine making it a bit difficult to pull out. Then there was the installation of the battery. Put the oil in before installing the barrery. Once the battery is installed there cables definately get in the way of getting access to the oil fill area. One last observations. Traditionally when buying a product of this magnatude, the owners manual is located on top of the machine when you open the box. With this particular item it was in the very bottom of the carton.

This unit was ordered arriving as scheduled, unloaded for us and placed in the garage. Assembly of the wheels was simple in accordance with the instructions. Following putting in the included oil and adding fuel, the unit started on the second pull on the by-hand start. Checked out the electrical outlets, all as advertised. Turned off the unit, started by electrical starter, started immediately. Very satisfied with the unit, and, the price was right, competitive. Thank you Sams.

I bought this generator for my husband, so haven't used it, but he is thrilled to death. Says it's everything he wanted & more. We had really shopped around & this is the best we found anywhere for features, power, price. He said it went together easily, only negative is location of gas fill hole. Started on the first try, runs quietly & does everything he wanted it to. Would recommend it to anyone looking for generator. Delivery was really quick, in perfect shape & service was just GREAT.

Had problems with set up wire for battery was damaged and no screws to hook up battery called and these were forwarded. Set up then went well. Start up and operating the unit was easy. The fuel intake would be better if placed closer to the side instead of the center.

Received yesterday in less time than some mail. Assembly could be easier, some nuts and bolts were difficult to reach but this is a minor issue. Wheel axle assembly is very strong. Today fueled and added oil. Fired up instantly. Oil is a real irritation. Filler is in a very-very difficult to reach location. Requirements are 1.16 quarts. I used the liter that came with generator and it overflowed. A long, automotive type, funnel must be used to fill. But, overall, I believe it may be the best 10K value on the market.

Received my generator and bolted wheels and handles on! took about 45 minutes to get it put together! The nuts for the handles need to be lock nuts because they WILL come loose, They are also hard to get a wrench on because of the way it is constructed.
BIG PROBLEM is the Wheels and the mounting for the wheels, this generator weighs in at about 240lbs and all that hold the wheels on are a couple of small welds on a piece of tubing on the bottom of the frame!
The wheels bent inward the first time I tried to move it around and then the welds on the wheels broke next! I have been waiting now for 20 days for Gentron to replace it! The generator runs Great and easy to start, the fuel cap is located in a bad place and is very easy to spill fuel.
I am waiting for a second generator to arrive to see if it as they above problems!

If there is one drawback to country living, it's the frequent power outages that one is subjected to. I finally got tired of sweating in the summer and freezing in the winter and decided to do something about it. I purchased this generator just after our last ice-storm. It was delivered within 10 days of sale, and the delivery company (Old Dominion) kept me updated on it's progress and had the driver call in advance to set up delivery. The generator itself was in perfect condition and was very easy to assemble (pretty much just the wheels and handles). I added the oil and she fired right up using both the electric start and pull start modes. I am using the generator as a whole-house unit, so I had an electrician install a transfer box to our power pole to avoid bleed-back into the lines. When I hooked her up I was able to run all our major appliances plus either two portable heaters, or two window air-conditioners and all the lights I wanted. It did bog down a bit when the well pump kicked in, but still ran. I installed a separate switch for the pump and problem solved. We have to pick and choose which electrical items to use, but for the price the generator is more than adequate to the task. I would highly recommend this product and am very pleased with it's performance.

Great Value - Plenty Of Power,

Unit was purchased on 1/29/09. Initially I had concerns based upon negative reviews. I have throughly tested my unit and it runs great. Had 6.5 HP shop vac, circular saw & 2HP compressor all running at same time with no problems whatsoever. Started first time without charging battery in very cold weather, also started several times with pull start without problems. I also plan to use this unit to power most of my home during outages and will test it soon. I had some delivery delays that Sam's resolved to my satisfaction. I only have about four hours on the unit, however, it has performed flawlessly. CONS: 1. Gas tank fill is located in the very center of the unit. Seems more logical to have the fill near the edge to make it easier to use a flexable spout on a five gallon can. Then your not as likely to spill gas or need a funnel. 2. I like to read the manuals on all equipment I purchase and this one leaves a lot to be desired. It is lacking in details and obviously someone who does not speak English translated this manual, however it did not cause any issues with assembly, starting or running. They really need an English speaking proof reader. 3.The only other minor issue would be to add another duplex 120V -20AMP outlet, so you don't have to buy the expensive L5 30Amp plug/extension. So far, I'm very pleased with the purchase and would recommend it.

I want to share my review concerning this portable generator with anyone that lives anywhere there are ice storms. We are in southern Missouri and have endured multiple ice storms through the years and know first hand how it feels to lose power. When it is gone you need a generator that is reliable, powerful and efficient. The cost was great as compared to other home hardware stores. The electric start is great for anyone to use, including my wife. It supplies enough power to run the water pump, furnace, freezer, refrigerator, TV, and other misc 120 circuit devices. It is not all that loud and when you are looking at ice everywhere and it is cold, you really don't hear anything, just the thanks. You will need someone to setup internal wiring in the home to minimize the work to start but that also makes life a bit easier. I ran a 5hp table saw on the 240 and all was well. That was a test. I would recommend this unit to anyone needing a portable power unit for the home. The free shipping is super and saves. In fact, I had the unit at my door in six days after the order. I do feel sorry for the folks that got a bad deal on several of the other reviews because if I had the same situation, the review could have been much different. I hope someone resolves their concerns because this realy is a great unit and well worth the money. I used the electric start and pull starts to make sure mine was operational. It took about 1 hour to put everything together and run the unit the first time. I was a bit concerned about purchasing this based only on the other reviews so wanted to share with potential buyers, it is worth the money.

Be Cautious!,

Purchased 1st unit on line at this web site. 1. After unpacking and preparing the unit, while attempting to start the unit with the recoil starter, the unit started but did not disenguage the recoil starter. End result-- the insides of the recoil starter got ripped to shreds. 2. Now attempted to start with the electric start feature. Unit started fine but within 7 minutes ceased all electric output. Generator would run but could not reset any breakers or (?) to get unit to produce electricity. Took unit back to local Sam's Club for full refund. No problems with that! 3. Purchased 2nd unit on line from this web site. While preparing this unit, I noticed that it wasn't quite packed the same as the first unit, and all the rubber feet on the frame appeared to have be ground down as if dragged across a parking lot or ..? Decided to see how the rest of the prep would turn out so continued to assemble the unit. Unit was now ready to start. Put fuel in tank and turned fuel valve to on. Fuel poured out of the carburetor and flooded the floor. After disassembling the air cleaner which inturns holds the carburetor on, I determined that the fuel inlet on the carburetor was MUCH smaller that the fuel outlet on the tank. Result... the rubber fuel line fit the tank but not the carburetor. So... off to the store to purchase a smaller piece of rubber fuel line and a couple of "real" clamps. Installed the new fuel line and reassembled the carburetor and air filter. Finally started the unit and it seemed to run just fine. Only have about 4 hours on it and it's still producing electricity. Recoil starter seems to work just fine. Called the manufacturer and they suggested to get about 10 hours on the unit before putting any "heavy load" on it. So far, I've just been running a couple of drop lights so I can determine that it's still producing electricity. This unit has some great features and I especially liked having two ways to start the unit. Chances are that when you really need the unit, the battery might be too dead to crank the unit over. The recoil starter would come in mighty handy at this point! This unit seems to be quite noisy, but when the power is out, who cares about noise!
