ARRIVED ON SCHEDULE. EASY TO ASSEMBLE, MOSTELY COMMON SENSE. TOOK ABOUT 1/2 HOUR. FILLED IT WITH OIL AND GAS AND IT STARTED SECOND PULL. THE BATTERY DIDN'T NEED CHARGING, AND STARTED THE GENERATOR WITH EASE. ALL VOLTAGES WERE CORRECT AND GENERATOR FUNCTIONED PERFECTELY.

I ordered this generator after a recent snow storm that left my family without power for 2 days. Mind you, this was the third time losing my power and the first time was for seven days. After reading the directions I was able to assemble the handles, tires, front bracket and battery within 30 minutes. The battery was the most awkard to put back into position, after connecting the terminals. After adding fuel and oil, I turned the key and the generator didn't skip a beat. It fired up immediately and did exactly what it was suppose to do. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase and time will tell on the durability of the Gentron. Thanks for such a great product with a great price.

BEWARE OF HIDDEN DAMAGES,

I BOUGHT THIS GENERATOR IN DEC. 2008. IT ARRIVED WITH A SMALL DENT ON GENERATOR COVER OTHERWISE IT LOOKED PERFECT . I CALLED COMPANY THEY SAID THEY WOULD SHIP ME A NEW ONE BUT DID NOT KNOW WHEN OR IF THEY COULD GET IT. THEY ALSO WOULD REFUND MY MONEY IF I CHOSE TO. I KEPT THE GENERATOR SINCE THE SMALL DENT WOULD NOT EFFECT THE OPERATION. WE DID NOT NEED TO USE THE GENERATOR SO WE PUT IN THE GARAGE UNTIL THIS YEAR WHEN WE WAS HIT BY THE SNOW STORM. AFTER ADDING GAS AND THE OIL WE STARTED IT, GAS WAS RUNNING OUT OF THE CARB. WE FOUND THAT THE FLOAT WAS STUCK. FIXED IT NO MORE LEAKING. STARTED IT IT RAN HALF HOUR AND SHUT OFF. WE LOOKED UNDER GAS TANK AND UPON A CLOSER LOOK WE FOUND A V - SHAPED DENT UNDER GAS TANK MAKING IT UNEVEN FOR GAS LEVEL. I THINK IT MUST HAVE BEEN DONE AT THE FACTORY WHEN THEY MOVED IT WITH A FORK LIFT . NO OTHER DAMAGE NOTICED ANYWHERE ELSE OTHER THAN THE SMALL DENT. SO IF YOU BUY ONE LOOK UNDER OVER AND EVERYWHERE FOR ANY DAMAGE. THIS MISTAKE ON MY PART IS GOING TO COST ME 120.00. AFTER WE FIX THE TANK I HOPE IT RUNS AS GOOD AS MY SISTERS, WHO RECOMMENDED IT.

Unit arrived in excellent condition in 5 - 7 days. Manual pictures very dark and useless. Left unit on skid and slid around to install wheels and support instead of using blocks. Used sockets and open end wrenches. Need long funnel for adding oil. Started in 2 seconds with no problems. Great unit, runs great. Checked all outlets and voltage is constant.

I replaced an old 5,000 watt unit that cost the same amount 15 years ago. The old one was twice as loud.
I recieved my unit before the time stated. It was easy to put together and I happened to own a long necked funnel which made it easy to put the oil in. When I turned the key on, the engine started up the first time in less than 30 seconds.
Only one problem, the unit only put out 60 volts. I put in a call to the manufacturer and they are shipping out a new governor for me to install. It sounds like a fairly easy fix. But then I have a very strong background in electrical- mechanical repair. But the main point for me is the manufacturer was very courteous.

Great experience from start to finish. Delivery was made to my garage and the skid was taken away for me. After removing the box the setup took about 25 minutes to complete. Setup required that the handles be attached along with the wheels. Actually, it could have been done in about 10 minutes, but I read the entire manual before starting. After adding the oil and gas the generator was running and is nice and quiet. Not as loud as my small snow blower. Checked the voltages and everything seemed great. Now it is ready for any power emergency that could arise.

Excellent value for the dollar. Fairly easy to assemble, done by 2 females. The unit is very heavy to remove from packaging. Very easy to move when assembled. Started with the first pull, didn't even need to use the electric start. Only used it once so far, very happy with the result. Considering the size it is not unusually loud.

Unit arrived on time and assembled easily. I didn't have the issue with oil-fill that others did, as I have a long funnel - and I tilted the unit for the fill. I either lost keys during unpack or they werent' shipped - manufacturer responded promptly to email and shipped another set. Unit started immediately and I tested all outlets - works as advertised. Havent' yet needed to run for an extended period under a load so will withold judgement until such time. Enjoy!

This generator is very easy to start. The engine is not loud like some generators. When power went out I was able to run the blower on the pellet stove for heat, a radiant heater, several lights, TV and Oxygen concentrator. Well worth the money.

I first got the generator it looked great put the oil in it and put gas in it it fired off on the first crank it sounds good just a little noisy. Plugged in to power pole started machine and flip the furnace breaker in the house to see what it would do just for a trial run it run for about 2 min. and kicked out thre circuit breaker one the generator.That was the only thing we turned on, So far that is the only problem i have with it i am returning it.
