I went from a 37" Vizio to a 42" Vizio to a 47" Vizio to the 55" Vizio I purchased last week. It's in our spare bedroom. Viewing distance is about 9-10 feet. I think I may have gone too big. Naaaaaahhhh! I also bought a Blu-ray player for it. All I can say is WOW! It's like being in the front row at the movie theater. I love it. Great picture, great value, great buy!

Great HD TV,

I replaced a rear projection 61" HD TV with this Visio 55" and it has been worth it. The picture is so incredibly real that it looks like you are looking through a window to what is being played. When connected to the Panasonic 7.1 surround sound Blu-ray DVD player this makes a great match 1080P looks incredible.

I bought this TV a few months ago and I'm impressed. I also have a 52" Sharp I paid more for but if I had to choose between the two I would go with this Vizio. Picture is second to none including TVs for twice the money I looked at. The sound could be slightly better and in that department the Sharp is slightly better but I hooked mine up to a home theater system so I can kick it up to true surround sound anytime I want. Great choice for any price!

Just Love the TV, but Directv Rec. to Vizio TV HDMI cable then Optical to Yamaha Amp will not play Dolby , my other Vizio 47" works great the 55" will not play Dolby thru any of the HDMI inputs 1-5 , DVD, DirecTV rec. I returned the first 55" thinking bad unit, purchased sony worked Dolby OK but don't like the picture. got another 55" Vizio from another Sams, same problem, now try and get them to fix the HDTV!!! Just getting another song and Dance from Vizio!!! Having to cable from DirecTV to Amp, and DVD to Amp if I want Dolby, DTS is a NO GO Also thru HDMI inputs, REAL Bummer!!!!!!!! DirecTV -->HDMI --> Vizio --> Optical --> Yamaha DVD -->HDMI --> Vizio --> Optical --> Yamaha !!!!!NO DOLBY!!!!!

I SAID YEA RIGHT! I STARTED WATCHING XMEN ORIGINS, BLU-RAY! IT REALLY DO. I WAS AMAZED. YOU WILL DEFINITELY SEE THE DIFFERENCE. THIS IS MY SECOND VIZIO(42 INCHES), ALSO FROM SAMS CLUB. The first thing I watched on this tv was the USC vs Ohio State game 9/12/09. I was stunned by the video quality and brightness of the picture. Setup was easy, and I like remote that's included. I have a sony PS 3 Slim, my quadcore computer, a 400 dvd megachanger, and a A/V receiver hooked up to the tv via HDMI. The tv was made with this type of connectivity in mind (5 HDMI) ports. This is the largest tv I have purchased to date and it took me by suprise by the distance required to comfortably watch the screen (at least 10ft minium). All in all I am happy with the set and the quality and especially the price.

I purchased this TV about a month ago after comparing it to all the other brands out there. The picture blows you away! It is as good as the other more expensive brands. The HD movies look like you are there watching everything happen! The HDMI cable is also included with the TV. The TV stand was already attached. Imagine that! All you have to do is take it home and plug it in! We are so pleased with the American tech support who are so knowledgable and friendly. They answer every question, no matter how trivial. We will buy another Vizio for our Master Bedroom soon! By the way, the TV was packaged very nicely and was easy to take out of the box.

Great Purchase,

We have had the product for about three weeks. Prior to this purchase we had an RCA 60" Proscan, a product that had more bells and whistles than any other TV we ever looked at including this one. But, it got old and the picture was not as good so we gave it to an underprivileged family and bought the Vizio 55" and the best thing is my wife is happy. If she is happy I am happy. wholeheartedly recommend this TV for anyone going to HD Heaven.

After researching ALL the 55" and above 1080p tv's, I choose this one based on specs & price. The picture is unbelievable!!! My husband and I were both saying how it looks like we are actually sitting on the movie set watching everyone say their lines!!! I have not seen a more clear,true to life picture anywhere!!! And for the price, this is a steal!! You will not be disappointed!! Like everyone is saying "It looks 3D" Didn't know how accurate they were, but they are all telling the truth. Looks 3D!!!The sound is also great!! BTW, went to Vizio website, they are selling for $2100 now!! Get it why they last! Word is out!

Here's another review after only 2 weeks from purchase but WOW. i went from SD to HT and from 27" to 55". Can't go back..No problems whatsoever. What i did on the warranty: unit comes with 1 year. i bought the Sam's 3 year extended warranty for $200 and then upgraded my Sam's membership to advantage plus which gives me one additional year for a total of 5 years.

I love this TV! I have had it for about a month now and the picture just gets better and better. It took mine about 2 weeks for the TV to learn how to use the smooth motion tech. but it was well worth the wait. At first I thought something was wrong but the picture kept getting smoother and smoother and now it is perfect. My father has the 52in 60Hz vizio and its nice but nothing like this one. I think the120Hz does make a big difference and the color with this TV is amazing! I strongly recommend everyone to get this TV.

Not as good as they think,

I bought this television a few months ago and have not spent much time actually watching TV or DVD's until lately. I have found that 'regular' TV looks poor on the HD unit and that the processor can not keep up with true 24 frame BluRay DVD's.
I called Vizio to discuss the issues and thier response was a follows:
For regular television shows, no high def, turn up the sharpness and for BluRay movies, turn off all of the features on the TV. Great, I have to manually adjust the TV for optimal viewing...
The processor is so poor, it can't even keep up with a simple soccer game.
I may have a dud but I will work that out with Vizio when I call back.
I hate to have paid this much money for a 55" computer monitor. If I had to do it all over again, I would purchase a different vendor's product.

I purchased this unit after months of research to find the best value for 1080p resolution per inch. My choice was going to be a Mitsibishi 60" rear projection unit until I saw the price on this Vizio flat panel LCD. The quality of picture (even from 1080i sources) is much better than rear projection and with this new price there is no reason to settle for rear projection to find value in a larger screen.

One of the best TV's that I have ever bought...I had one problem with it though...one of the HDMI inputs has stopped working...the picture has turned almost orange with whatever I put there...Another thing that has bothered me more than anything else is when I purchased the TV 2-6-09 the price was $1797.00 which is over $200.00 more than it is now.
