Belt broke after 5 mins, first time I used it,

When I moved from my wood floor to the low carpet hight rug, the belt broke. I had just bought it home and put it together. Back it goes, it looks like that is the weak spot to the vacuum. I vacuum every morning, and there is no way I can keep buying more belts. The Eureka help line offered to send me a new belt, and said it did seem to happen quite often. Maybe it would be OK if you had all carpets or all wood floors?

GREAT VAC and Very Easy to Assemble!,

Very powerful pick up! A bit heavier than some vacs I've owned, but when you are running the vac, it moves light and easy!
The only thing I can think of that folks have trouble with assembly, would be when following the chart pics. The assembly order goes across, row by row and the first two screws in the directions, insert from the inside toward the outside or rear of the vacuum...the picture isn't very clear to someone who may not assemble lots of stuff!

Great Vacuum, especially for the price,

This vacuum was an excellent purchase, especially for the price point. I read the other reviews before purchasing and it is a little heavy, but it is quiet, effective and the tools are very handy all on an organized and well laid out unit (buttons easy to reach, tools easy to get to and put back on the unit for storage). The auto cord rewind is great, no fooling with wrapping up a cord on the unit after you're done. Just press the button and it zips right back into the unit. I don't think you can find a better vacuum for the price. I actually enjoy vacuuming now, definitely a plus!

Great choice,

Just bought this last night to replace a Dyson Slim that went out for repairs for the 4th time in 2 years. My 11 year old Lego expert son put the Eureka together by himself in 20 minutes. The quality, fit and finish are much more than I would expect for a $100 machine. It was also $30 cheaper at Sam's than at another retailer. The suction is very strong. Although the machine is a bit heavy the self propel feature moves it along effortlessly. The design is smartly executed. You won't be disappointed.

Best vacuum for great price,

Love, love, love this vacuum! We replaced a well known brand with this vacuum and WOW!, what a difference! We own a Roomba, so didn't want to spend alot on an upright and this is an amazing vacuum for a reasonable price. All the features are great, including the auto cord rewind, easy on/off switch, and ease of use for tools. This vacuum is extremely easy to use.

Quite easy to assemble,

I bought this vaccum cleaner for the value aspect of it. Assembly to vaccuming took less than 20 minutes. I usually do not write review. The main reason to write the review was to dispel the notion that it is hard to assemble as noted by another reviewer. Moreover, there was a toll free number, if you needed help in assembling. I did not need it. Vaccuming was quite satisfactory. It was little heavier, but the machine seemed to propel itself forward during vaccuming. This was helpful.

I plugged in and tried 9 vacuums at a store: from canisters to uprights; with and without bags; even the much heard about Dyson with the small ball. This Eureka and the Dyson picked up the dirt the best. For $99 bucks compared to $399 which one did the working class mom choose? The one I could pay for without putting it on a credit card. My husband put it together in 10 minutes. I asked him if it was hard to assemble. He said "No". -- The small Dyson was lighter and much more easy to handle. If you have back problems, arthritis, or any handicap you would be able to use the small ball Dyson.

a pain to put together!,

I purchased this instead of the Dyson- because it had so many of the cool features of the Dyson for so much less money and also because I liked the retractable cord feature. After working on this all afternoon, we still do not have all the parts screwed on. I am going to exchange it for something easier to put together!
