We purchased two new Vizio 42" flatscreens last year and thought they were great, but when we mounted these two new units, we were amazed at the difference a year in technology makes. Since we have one of each visible from a middle-bar seat, it's easy to see that the new models are clearer, crisper, and brighter.

Big TV success,

Naturally I was apprehensive about ordering such a big item online. In fact, everything went as hoped. The ordering was simple. The delivery was fortunately normal--on time and without any need to be apprehensive--and in the end, routine. And the new big TV looks great. Have your HDMI cable ready ahead of time, because that is what you need for the best picture and sound from an attached DVD or BluRay. I should have moved up to a bigger TV earlier.

I have had my Vizio TV for almost a week now and I have been pleased with the experience so far. It has a very nice design and, as others have noted, it is very easy to set up. The only reason that i rated the T.V. a four star instead of a five star is because the sound is really poor. Our son has asthma and has to do breathing treatments with a nebulizer and he can hardly hear the T.V., even when the volume is all the way up. We had a 10-year-old Toshiba before this and never had any issues with volume. Still, the product overall is good. We plan on getting a speaker(s) to enhance the sound, for around $100. As for the picture, we do not have HD service, so the picture is good but not great. As long as you are about 8' or more back from the T.V., it looks fine. DVDs look awesome, so I have no doubt that the TV would truly shine in HD. The 120 hz is a little hard to get used to and it makes movies look very "weird." I have heard that this feature enhances watching sports, but I have not tried it yet. The TV has ample inputs (HDMI and others) to support multiple devices. The remote is pretty basic, but most everyone I know uses a universal nowadays anway, so that is not a big deal. Overall, it is a great value for the price, even if I do have to buy speakers to enhance the sound.

I purchased this VIZIO as a second TV for the bedroom, we have a larger SONY Bravia in the family room. The picture and sound of the VIZIO is as good as the SONY, I would rate the features and ease of use better then the SONY, which cost 4 times as much. With the media features I have download free HD movies on the internet and watched them on my VIZIO using a USB hard drive. I had reasearched this TV before purchasing and and thus I had no problem getting the correct settings. The PIP and POP features are great for football and so is the 120Hz refresh rate. I have only had this TV for 2 weeks, but so far I am very pleased and I can't think of a single negative.

After a couple of month of reading reviews, looking at displays and price checking ,it became clear that Vizio had a lot to offer for the price. We 've had the TV for about a month and are very happy so far. Picture is great controls are simple to use and set-up was simple ,about 20 minutes. The sound is the only area that could use some help. For the price this is the one to buy. Only time will tell how good it really is.

Great TV for the price,

I chose to go with a Vizio because their entire line is cheaper than any other comparable brand, but it would have been twice the price for the same specifications.
Ordering online was really easy, and it was estimated to be shipped in 7-10 days, but got to me in about 2. I would have been happy if it had taken the full 10 days though.
The setup was really easy, all you have to do is attach the stand and plug it in and you're good to go. If you want to wall mount it, just make sure you have someone do it with experience.
As far as the picture quality goes, it's great. Really clear. The only thing that was weird at first was the way it looked like people were moving really fast, and the sound was really low on the loudest setting. ALL of the issues I had with the picture and sound were solved just by messing with the settings of the TV. Just experiment and adjust until you find what you like. If you selected a setting you don't like, you can always reset to the default settings and start all over again.

I recently purchased this TV and am more than happy with it. I purchased on-line and it was sent to me via UPS. It was nothing to assemble and using the directions I was able to connect the cable without issue. If you are looking for a new TV I would deffinately reccomend this one.
