I got the 551XVT for my 50th birthday and I can't stop watching it. its truly awesome. Its a bit deeper at about 4.5 inches than the latest Samsungs BUT the picture is better on the Vizio, The menus are easy to use and the remote was easuly programmed to control my Comcast HDTV DVR box. As a matter of fact I can use both remotes at any time to control the TV and cable box.

I bought this television on Sunday, March 7, 2010. This is by far the most beautiful television set I've ever witnessed. The picture quality is stunning. We replaced a 42" Sony with this television. The picture quality was great on the Sony, but this television absolutely puts it to shame.
I bought the Sony Blu-Ray player at the same time and the combination of the two is amazing. The setup was super simple and this television is amazing.
At this price, do NOT miss the chance to grab this television at an exceptional price. Simply AWESOME!

I have been debating purchasing the 55" LED Vizio since the beginning of last summer. I went to Sams this past Friday to pick up some misc items and as usual I hit the electronics area first (and I am glad I did) and had to do a double take when I saw the price on this TV. Needless to say I went home and exchanged cars with my wife (Honda Odessy) so it would fit. It took me longer to take the TV out of the box than to hook it up to all components. I turned the TV on and OMG what an amazing picture. It was as if these people were in my room, I could not believe the clarity and 3D like viewing. My wife, who could care less about electronics, was standing there with her eyes popping out of her head. She was also amazed and now I know I made the right choice. In addition, I bought the Vizio soundbar. The soundbar was a good idea even thou the sound from the TV is good, the soundbar puts it over the top.

Value and performance are enough for you to consider this tv. Even the sound is acceptable. The big BUT is that the PIP/POP feature will not work with Directtv. The Vizio will accept a signal from 9 or 10 devices but it only has 1 tuner and 2 are needed for PIP. I can view a TV show along with a DVD or VCR recording but why. I can watch a recorded tape or disk anytime. I want to watch 2 sporting events. The problem is the Directtv box will only provide 1 signal . I contacted both VIZIO and Directtv looking for a solution but they do not have one.

Awesome picture. Great Price. however the box still sits in my living room, as i purchased tonight. The remote control became real hot and doesnt function at all now. I replaced with fresh batteries, and nothing. Real disappointment.

Excellent Front View Only,

Led's are great for front view only! If you need side view and Front View go with a Samsung B52 750 LED. I own both Buy now it NOW. New ones have Apps I have it on my Samsung B750 Never use it. Blue Ray offers More Apps. More problems down the road and it will cost you more money. Same Specs. Called Vizio I did. Vizo is 6 months over due in releasing new model. If you are running 5.1 with a Denon AVR 1610 and Polks and old computer it will blow away new Vizo by miles.

This TV, machine rather, is just as good as the paper thin Samsung LEDs that go for 3k, maybe even better! Picture and colors are out of this world. I looked at the reviews before purchasing this, and everything that was said is true! This TV does not get hot in the back, like all the others i have owned previously. Very ECO-friendly, and economical. World of difference sales guys in Sams will recommended the Sharp 52" LED, but this Vizio blows it away, and less expensive too!

My other half said he wanted a TV that when you turn it you go "WOW" Well when I got home with this TV and we got it hooked up and then turned it on, My mouth fell open and we both went Wow! It does exactly what it says it does and more! And Vizio has the greatest warranty! I have to honestly say when I first wanted this TV my other half said it's not a name that you hear much about, when he turned it on he could not say anything bad at all. The LED LCD makes an almost 3D appearance. You will definately love this TV....I promise!!!! AND THE WARRANTY...YOU GET ONE YEAR WITH THE TV, ANOTHER FREE YEAR WITH A PLUS ADVANTAGE CARD, AND YOU CAN PURCHASE A THREE YEAR WARRANTY, SO WE HAVE A 5 YR WARRANTY. We didn't really know if we should take a chance on Vizio because the brand is relatively new to us. Soooo glad we did, the price was much more aforadable then Samsung or other big name brands. Everything about this TV is awsome, we haven't stopped watching TV since it was delivered. Even a Grandma can hook it up with ease, and she did!

The tv was easy to set up and arrived in good working order. I love the picture quality and specially with HD channels. The drawback, once you buy a Vizio 240Hz, you are spoiled and the other sets become less attractive.
This unit is super easy to set-up and connect. The picture clarity and color will blow you away. Everything is so clear that I am rewatching movies as if I had never seen them before. HD television channels are incredible, and non-HD channels are much clearer than I have ever seen before. The picture is bright and clear from any practical angle within the room. Fantastic product!

VIZIO has hit a home run with their VF551XVT LED TV! All I can say is the high end manufactures need to take note of this piece of superior engineering and get with the program. I purchased this TV last week and was instantly impressed with the picture quality while on display in the store. I have been doing research on LED TV’s for a while now and have to say that this is an awesome TV. I compared this model to other high end LED models such as Samsung and LG and the VIZIO smokes these sets even with the price difference set aside. I purchased this TV at Sam’s Club for a fraction of the cost of the other models in which I felt could even compare to this TV. Paid $1597 for this one and was worth every penny. I even had to make a special trip to a Sam’s Club that was well over 1.5 hours from home because our local Sam’s Club didn’t seem to be able to keep this model in stock, I can see why now!! I replaced my old worn out Panasonic 52” rear projection TV with this remarkable product. Please don’t make the same mistakes I made in the past. I purchased a 60” LG plasma TV last year and it was a huge disappointment. Even though our old Panasonic had been tiring out for a while and produced a green hue over the entire screen, it produced a much better quality picture than this set with no pixilation. We are still watching standard definition digital 480p from DirecTV and I have to say sometimes I think I could just get up and walk right into the picture, I can’t begin to describe the clarity of the picture produced, and even on standard 480p. This product is a must for the consumer who has been searching for a big screen and chooses not to upgrade to High Definition 1080p. Don’t get me wrong!! I am more than anxious to experience the HD picture, but with this extraordinary clarity on 480p, consumers may not think it is worth the extra $’s for that programming package or may choose to receive the free local channels in HD over the air. I will post again when DirecTV installs my new HD receiver, I am waiting patiently! I read all the reviews on this set before making the decision to purchase it. I read very few reviews said the sound was not that great on this system, so I made the decision to purchase the VIZIO sound bar just in case it didn’t suit my taste on the sound. I will probably return it even though it produces awesome sounds; the TV produces a good quality sound for those individuals that are use to watching TV without the use of a home theater system. I do agree that it could be improved, but I could also say that about some of the other high end models that cost hundreds more. If you are searching for a big screen TV to replace your old set or just want to purchase a set for another room in your house, don’t hesitate to purchase this one, you will not be disappointed. I would recommend this TV to anyone who has the space to put this huge model. My wife is in awwws with this VIZIO model, and if she is impressed then anyone that has any doubts in purchasing this model should let me put your mind to rest. BUY THIS TV YOU WILL NOT REGRET THIS DECISION!!!!!!!!! Be the first person on your block to own this extraordinary piece of art, but don’t blame me if your friends envy you for having the best LED TV in town. I would like to thank everyone that has reviewed this product before me as they were a huge influence in my decision to purchase this model. I debated on purchasing this TV or the Samsung slim TV with the same aspects but comparing this TV at slightly under $1900 to Samsung's $2800- it was no contest. I never had anything bad to say about Vizio nor Samsung but $900 is $900!
I absouletely love this television!! As two of my friends have put it: It feels like you're looking out a window and the action is right in front of you. i also purchased the Vizio soundbar and the TV is that much better. :)
